Glasgow's Hunterian Art Gallery provides a fantastic overview of
Scottish art in the late 19th and early-20th centuries with this
illustrative exhibition. Featuring key works by renowned and
revolutionary artists alike, it is a comprehensive introduction to
Scotland's artistic heritage.
From artists such as Fraser and Macgregor, through works by the
revolutionary Glasgow Boys, Glasgow Girls and the Group of Four, to
later artists such as Fergusson and Peploe, the exhibition offers
visitors a broad survey of Scottish art.
It also seeks to locate a
connecting thread between the various styles and movements of the
period and to emphasise continuity across Scottish art into the 20th
century.
