Learning something new is challenging and exciting. Glasgow is packed with learning opportunities from singing to dancing, knitting, presenting and so much more. Some of these learning opportunities are available now. For others, you might need to plan ahead and register now for next September. Over the next few days, we’ll tell you even more about learning something new in Glasgow.
Learn more about your family and your role within it by attending a Family Constellations workshop. Family Constellations is an approach formed in the last few decades which looks at the individual not by himself, but within the context of his family. The ‘family’ could be interpreted as his current family or his family of origin, not just parents and siblings, but even grandparents and great-grandparents. The idea behind the 'Family Constellations' is that the family forms a system of which each member is part. The impact of trauma, of history and of belief systems is carried and passed down to the younger generations. The younger generations might not even be aware of what is passed to them -- they only carry it on behalf of others. This approach aims to release the individual from this weight he or she carries. It is interesting for anyone wanting to learn about themselves, and for people struggling with stress, depression, difficulties with a partner, a child, or a parent. The next workshop in Glasgow is on May 15th at the Wellington Church in the West End.
Improve your presentation skills. We have all attended bad presentations, a combination of boring Powerpoint presentations and a presenter paralysed by stage fright. It is an excruciating experience for both for the attendee and the presenter. Now is the opportunity to change this forever and build some strong presentation skills. This training will be an asset in your professional and personal life: learn to put your point across effectively, keep your audience's interest, and use powerful visual aides, among other things.
We have mentioned knitting on this blog before and it's never too late to start. Whether you are looking for something to do on the beach this summer or, on the contrary, trying to keep yourself busy because the weather is not nice enough for a bit of sunbathing, learning to knit is fun. Knitting is a fun activity for children too. They love seeing the result of their hard work and sharing their progress. 'Finger knitting' videos are a good place to start. Books and knitting kits are also easy, fun and make lovely gifts.
More to come! Photography, dancing, piping, cooking...
