glasgow choirGlasgow is a vibrant city with a very active musical life. With many places to sing your heart out, there is not a moment to lose, give it a go! Whether you're a already a confident singer or would like to give it a try, here are some ideas of where to sing in Glasgow.

 

The Hyndland Community Choir is recruiting new members. No previous experience necessary, you don't even need to read music. A diverse repertoire and relaxed atmostphere. This term, swing to the tunes of Rent, California Dream, West Side Story...

Every Friday 7-9pm Hyndland Secondary School Contact Joanna: harte.j@btinternet.com 0796 485 2701. Special offer: bring along your husband/wife/partner and one of you gets in free! At the end of term, the concert is done together with the children of Theatre Studio's drama club and musical theatre.

The Merchant Voices is another community choir based in The Merchant City. The weekly classes are led by tenor and conductor Dominic Peckham and covering a broad repertoire. Open to adults of all ages, no previous musical experience is required, just lots of enthusiasm. For more information, call 0141 559 60-26 The choir meets every Wednesday from 6.30pm-8.30pm Studio 1 in the City Halls (G1 1NQ) Free.

The Glasgow Cathedral Choral Society welcomes new member. The GCCS is a mixed choir of about 60 voices with a repertoire covers music from all periods. The next concert is in May the new season will start again in September.

The 'Sing Your Own Voice' workshop planned for June 5th will help you find your own voice. Whether you are an experienced singer or singing for the first time, Francine will help you enjoy the joy of singing and discover your full potential. This singing workshop will be held in Edinburgh or Glasgow depending on interest and participants' location. Contact us for details.
