valentine day glasgowIt seems that it's Valentine's day again. I know what you're saying: already? Wasn't Christmas only yesterday? Well apparently not so here are some ideas for Valentine's day in Glasgow.

For a Valentine's day with a difference, how about going dancing?

Dance with Attitude offer a beginners tango or salsa class for 2 with delicious tapas and and introductory drink included. You can choose a private class or the group beginners class: Argentine Tango (7.30pm) or Salsa (£8.30). (La Bodega 1120 South Avenue, Scotstoun, G14 0AP tel, 0141 581 3401)

For dinner, Òran Mór (Top of Byres Road Glasgow G12 8QX tel: 0141 357 6226) has a Valentine's Day special from February 12th to 14th Feb, 5pm-10pm. The Roast Rack Lamb & Shepherds Pie and the chocolate fondue seems particularly appetising!

MacSorley’s special Valentine's Day menu seems equally appetising with salmon, Argyll hill lamb and Scottish Goat cheese. The kitchen produces traditional Scottish dishes with flair using fresh, seasonal, local produce in a 110 year old restored Glasgow public house. A restored mosaic floor from 1899 and flashes of Harris tweed upholstery sit alongside the bold and surreal wallpapers of Timorous Beasties and photography by local snapper Brian Sweeney. The perfect setting for a romantic dinner.

If that's what's in your plans for the future, the Scotland Wedding Event is also taking place this week on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th. The show features wedding companies from around Scotland. From photographers, wedding dresses, venues, wedding invitations, you will find everything you're looking for in one place.

In the Grand Hall of the City Halls, don't miss this very special concert: "Greater Love", a celebration of love in all its forms. A host of international and Scottish artists will perform your favourites from the worlds of opera, the West End and the West Coast of Scotland… with a few surprises! The concert is in support of The Mark Wright Project, a charity set up in memory of Corporal Mark Wright GC, who was killed in action in an attempt to save the lives of other injured soldiers. The charity supports ex-service men and women, and the bereaved families of those who have been killed, to overcome not just the visible but the invisible wounds of war.

Do you have any other ideas to celebrate Valentine's day in Glasgow? We would love to hear from you.
